the Southern Region
Tractors Malaysia, the country's leading
distributor of premium heavy equipment, is expanding its operations in
the southern region of Malaysia by upgrading its Kluang Branch in Johor.
The Kluang Branch, which was formerly a depot
with 6,000 square feet of land area, has been expanded by about 400 percent
to 25,800 square feet. This will enable the company to introduce its latest
range of heavy equipment and expertise, especially for the oil palm industry.
Managing Director of Sime Darby Industrial
Sdn Bhd, Mr Chong Kwea Seng, said the upgraded Kluang Branch now carries
a comprehensive parts inventory for Caterpillar machines, allied machines
and lift trucks. It will also stock a wide range of Caterpillar machines
and allied equipment, including wheel loaders, hydraulic excavators, backhoe
loaders and lift trucks.

A historical moment. Tractors Malaysia's new Kluang Branch is opened with the signing of a plaque by the Managing Director of Tractors Malaysia, Mr. Chong Kwea Seng, and Caterpillar's Asia Region Manager Mr. Walt Bradbury"We recognize the business potential
and your growing needs here. We aim to have, at your disposal, a comprehensive
range of products and services that your respective businesses may require
in this territory," he told about 300 guests and partners at the opening
of the upgraded Kluang branch on June 23, 2009. Also present was the Asia
Region Manager of Caterpillar Asia Pte Ltd., Mr Walt Bradbury.
Mr. Chong said Caterpillar equipment can
be used to help raise productivity levels in plantations as it can assist
oil palm estates in land clearing, harvesting and fresh fruit bunch (FFB)
collection.Hydraulic excavators, for example, will help improve the performance
of replanting work, while wheel loaders can help with speedy loading and
unloading of FFB. Backhoe loaders and compact skid steers, on the other
hand, can double up as utility vehicles.
