Mr. Shiu Chi Yan

Mr. Shiu Chi Yan - Managing Director, Industrial Division (Asia)


Mr. Shiu joined China Engineers Limited (CEL) in 1986 and spent 23 years in various positions in Power System Division, from technical assistant, sales engineer, and project manager to general manager. He has extensive experience in project management, sales and marketing of Caterpillar engine products in Hong Kong and China.


He was transferred to heavy equipment sales in 2009 and turned around the business in both market share and profitability. He was promoted to Managing Director of CEL in 2014 and has led the company in receiving two Global Dealer Excellence awards before assuming his current role in 2020.


Mr. Shiu graduated from Hong Kong Polytechnic in Electrical Engineering in 1986 and awarded a Master degree in engineering management from Warwick University in 1998. He also attended Harvard Business School’s Global CEO Program for China in 2010.

Mr. Liew Thiam Huat

Mr. Liew Thiam Huat - Managing Director, Industrial Southeast Asia at Sime Darby

Prior to Mr. Liew's appointment to his current role as Managing Director, Industrial Southeast Asia on 1 August 2022, Mr. Liew was the Managing Director, Logistics Division on 1 January 2021. Before that, he was the Deputy Managing Director of the Division.

In this current role, Mr. Liew will be responsible for all our operations in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei.

Mr. Liew began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Kuala Lumpur as a tax and audit assistant in 1992. He joined Sime Darby in December 2010 and held the position of Divisional Chief Financial Officer of the Logistics Division until 2016. He was then transferred to Industrial Division in 2016 as Chief Financial Officer, Asia. In May 2019, Mr. Liew was appointed as the Deputy Managing Director of Sime Darby Logistics.

Before joining Sime Darby, he has had more than 13 years of international working experience both in the African continent and in port operations in China.

Mr. Liew is a Chartered Accountant of the Malaysia Institute of Accountants (MIA) and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) of the United Kingdom.
